APEX/KPK WannaCrypt Security Update

The "APEX/KPK WannaCrypt Security Update" addresses a ransomware exploit identified by Microsoft and commonly known as "WannaCrypt" or "WannaCry".  This update will install on all APEX and KPK systems (Windows XP and Windows 7).  This update is not needed on APEX+/KPK+ V6.0 and later systems (it is included as part of the application software).

Installing the WannaCrypt Security Update on a KODAK Picture Kiosk


Installing the Update

IMPORTANT: You must install the update on each Kiosk.


1. From the Main screen of the Kiosk, touch:
• [Setup]. Enter the password if necessary.
• [Install Software]
2. Insert the CD into the CD drive, or insert the USB Thumb Drive into an available USB Port.
3. At “Software Installation”, touch [Check for Media].
4. At “Installation CD Detected”, touch [Install].
The Kiosk restarts.
5. When “Installation Complete” appears on the Kiosk:
• Remove and store the CD or USB Thumb Drive in the software wallet.
• Touch [OK].
7. Install the software on each additional Kiosk.
8. Store the CD in the sleeve.
Installation is complete!
