Installation Instructions

Installing the 605 Photo Printer Firmware V23.00 on the KODAK Picture Kiosk


Install the firmware on all 605 connected to a KODAK Picture Kiosk.


IMPORTANT: Before you begin, make sure that:
• All Printers are connected, and listed as FOUND in Device Health Check.
• Each Printer indicates a “Ready” status on the display of the printer.


1. Make sure that the power for the printer(s) is on, and “Ready” appears on the display.
2. From the Main screen of the Kiosk, touch [Setup]. Enter the password if necessary.
3. Touch [Install Software].
4. Insert the CD into the CD-RW drive, or the USB Thumb Drive into an available USB Port.
5. At “Software Installation”, touch [Check for Media].
6. At “Installation CD Detected”, touch [Install].
7. At “Ready to Install the Program”, touch [Install].
Wait while the firmware is installed. This can take up to 5 minutes per printer.
The Kiosk restarts.
8. Does “Ready” appear on the printer(s)?

Yes - Continue with Step 9.

No - Install the firmware again. If “Ready” still does not appear
on the printer, contact Service and Support.


9. At “Installation Complete”:
• Remove and store the CD or USB Thumb Drive in the software wallet.
• Touch [OK].
The Printer Firmware is now installed on all 605 Printers connected to your Kiosk.
Verify that the Firmware is Installed
1. From the Main screen of the Kiosk, touch [Setup]. Enter the password if necessary.
2. Touch:
• [Diagnostics]
• [Application Health Check]
3. Verify that “KODAK 605 Printer FW V23.00” appears.
4. If “KODAK 605 Printer FW V23.00” does not appear, install the
firmware again. If it still does not appear, contact Service and Support.
5. Touch:
• [Continue]
• [Start Over]


Resetting the Printer Calibration
IMPORTANT: Make sure the firmware is installed before you reset the calibration.
1. From the Setup screen of the Kiosk, touch [Manage Devices].
2. Touch [KODAK Photo Printer 6800/6850/605 Options].
3. Do you have two 605 Printers?

Yes - Select a printer.

No - Continue with Step 4.


4. Touch:
• [Reset Factory Calibration]
• [Yes] at the prompt.
The following message appears:
“Reset calibration succeeded.”
5. Touch:
• [OK]
• [Previous]
6. Repeat steps 3-5 if you have a second 605 Printer.
7. Touch:
• [Start Over]
• [Exit]
